His Love

As I gaze into the night sky, and behold the beauty of the stars, I realize the vast amount of wonderful stars there are. No one could possibly count them all. As I ponder the size, a verse comes to mind, Psalm 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.” Can you even comprehend that? I sure can’t. We serve an amazing God who numbered the stars and “calls them by name!” If the stars mean so much to him that He knows them by name, how important are we to him? He didn’t send His son to die on a cross for the stars, He sent Him to die for us. He didn’t create heaven, so that when the stars die they have a wonderful place to spend eternity. He created it so we could spend an eternity with Him, with no pain or sorrow. That’s a humbling thought! When you realize how enormous everything is, you realize how insignificant you really are. We are just tiny people on a tiny planet. Man hasn’t even begun to touch the surface of what’s really out there. Such a great love He must have, that He cares so much for us.

Autumn… it’s probably one of the most wonderful times of the year. There’s something about it that makes me remember the wonderful times spend with my family.  Maybe it’s the falling leaves that make me remember as a little child, the excitement I had as my mom would rake them into a nice pile and I would then completely muddle it up by jumping into them. She would rake them all back up to find that I had done it all over again. Maybe it’s the cool nights that remind me of the many cool nights my dad and I sat together on the tail gate of his truck, gazing into the night sky, staring at the millions of stars, competing against each other to see who could find the first satellite. The smell of the neighbors baking pies can only remind me of one thing, Thanksgiving at Nanas. Her little house filled with food and family, and the delicious pies we get to eat after.  Or he laughter and the signing, as we come together rejoicing in what the Lord has given us.
There are so many things to be thankful for, that if I were to write it all here, it would take hours for you to read it all. I thank God daily that He put me in the family He did.
A beautiful mother … who took the time to show me many vital things about life and how to care for a family.
An awesome step dad… that took time out of his busy schedule to take me fishing, or on other fun adventures.
An amazing little eight year old brother… that always keeps things exciting and who never allows any dull moments.
A wonderful stepmom… who I can remember spending many days together with going on shopping trips.
An incredible athletic brother… who spent many nights with me in the driveway shooting hoops and playing h.o.r.s.e
A best friend I like to call… daddy.  (And don’t even bother telling me, because he’s way better than your dad.)
And a loving fiancĂ©… who I get to spend the rest of my life with.
There are so many more people and things in my life to be thankful for, these are only the start.
